North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Homecoming for North East Marketing Consultancy

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 09.44.50A leading North East marketing consultancy has gone back to its roots in a move that will reaffirm its commitment to its UK clients and future growth strategy, after more than three years of operating from abroad.

Darlington-based Myk Baxter Marketing (MBM), an international online marketing firm, recently returned its headquarters to the UK, after moving to Thailand in 2012.

Specialising in online marketing and website design and development, the firm was founded in 2009 and has worked with international brands such as Nicky Clarke and Norseland to name a few.

MBM’s managing director, Myk Baxter, said: “I decided to take a break from the UK after my mother sadly passed away in 2011, so I moved myself and my business to Thailand where I could remotely manage my existing client base and develop the business internationally.

“I was looking to expand the company, and also travel South East Asia to pick up new business as my focus was to work with clients wanting to bring in international trade which was prompted by UK Trade and Investment. A lot of the larger companies I worked with were western educated so that made the move much easier.

“But after a while, you start to get home sick, so last year I put plans in place to return to the UK, where I felt I could better support my key accounts and the growth I have in mind for MBM.”

The company, which hires 22 staff across the UK, Thailand and India, has worked with more than 1,000 clients in its six years of business, including a large number of web design and PR agencies internationally who utilise MBM’s marketing solutions for their own clients.

On its contract with MBM, Norseland’s brand manager, Lisa Harrison, said: “I can’t fault the experience, customer service, quickness to respond to my enquiries and value for money of Myk Baxter Marketing. The social media campaign that they are running is producing better results in one month that the whole year last year with my previous agency.”

Myk said: “Our ability to advise a range of businesses on how to improve the way they are perceived in their own industries is what has given MBM the momentum to keep growing as a company. We consult on positive changes that can help anyone get better results from the internet.”

On the future of MBM, Myk said: “I wanted to set up a local presence again in the North East, because that’s where my roots are, but our future is to grow into other countries and travel internationally to service clients whilst continuing to build the Myk Baxter Marketing brand.”

MBM recently launched its own social media management platform and content marketing service, where companies can sign up for free and benefit from a range of tools that allow management of multiple social networks in one place:http://socialmedia.mykbaxtermarketing.com/signup
