Scrum-half James Elliott has extended his stay at Newcastle Red Bulls, signing a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old County Durham native has made 28 appearances since arriving from Jersey Reds in October 2023, and spoke of his delight at agreeing his new contract.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to keep representing Newcastle Red Bulls at such an exciting time for the club,” said Elliott, who has also played for Leeds.
“It was a no-brainer for me to extend, coming through the academy here and supporting the club my whole life. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
Sporting general manager Neil McIlroy said: “James is a great professional with a team-first mentality.
“He works hard at his game, he’s a positive influence on those around him and he’s got that connection to the local area.
“Not only that, but he’s a talented scrum-half who can get us into the right areas of the field, so I’m glad that he will be with us for at least the next couple of years.”
