Applying for grants can be a daunting and difficult task for many business owners, but The Foundation for Women in Enterprise(FWE) makes the whole process simple.

The organisation provides grants to business women in the North East via an online application process that is easy to access for small grants, typically around £250.

To showcase the organisation FWE is hosting a Strawberry Afternoon Tea event at Wynyard Hall on Thursday 14th June. The event, sponsored by Hewitts Solicitors, Castlegate Shopping Centre, Additional Lengths and Stockton Borough Council will see over 170 North East businesswomen getting together to find out more information about the organisation and the funding process.

Janice Auton, committee member and founder of Poppy’s Hairdressing and Boutique said: “The organisation is about encouraging and supporting women entrepreneurs and often small grant schemes are not available to businesses, small cash injections can make a world of difference to entrepreneurs and we are proud that we can help and support women across the North East.”

Throughout the day, attendees will indulge in a strawberry afternoon tea and will hear from guest speaker Sara Davies, found of Crafter’s Companion.

Sara said: “Having started my business at university after a lightbulb moment, I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for the advice and contacts given to me by a business advice service.

“The Foundation for Women in Enterprise can be totally invaluable to someone setting up in business, whether it’s for funding to get an idea off the ground or for that helping hand in the form of business support and advice along the way. The way the foundation promotes positive female role models is a breath of fresh air and I’m honoured to be involved with the work they do.”

Tickets cost £29.00 and are available from strawberrytea2018@eventbrite.co.uk, the next grant application closing date is the 27th July 2018 with grant recipients receiving an outcome within 7 days of the grant panel meeting taking place on the 31st July.

“The event is set to be a sell out once again and a great way for businesswomen to get together to support and promote each other. Please come along to find out about the great opportunities and funding available”, said Pamela Hargreaves, committee member, event host and owner of Water Babies Tees Valley.
