Football fans can enjoy the build-up to England’s international in the North East this week, all from the comfort of Sunderland’s newest restaurant.
On Friday (May 27) the new Karbon Grill Kitchen and Bar will be opening its doors to coincide with England’s pre-UEFA Euro 2016 friendly against Australia at the adjacent Stadium of Light.
Those heading to the match, or simply wanting to soak up the atmosphere, are invited to call into the Karbon Grill for a pre-match meal or drink and return after the final whistle to hopefully celebrate the team’s second victory of their warm up campaign.
The restaurant, which specialises in Pan-American fusion cuisine, will also be screening the game and serving it’s a la carte and bar menus for lunch and dinner.
This includes the signature Karbon Burger, seasoned with a unique rub, as well as Tennessee glazed ribs with spiced corn, Cajun blackened stone bass, baked North Sea lobster and a range of dishes cooked on a charcoal fuelled Josper Grill for a stronger barbecue taste.
“The Karbon Grill Kitchen and Bar is just yards away from the Stadium of Light, where England will be taking on Australia,” said head chef, Luca Tomassetti.
“This is a great opportunity for those attending the match to make more of their day and for anyone who couldn’t get tickets to stay close to the action and soak up the atmosphere, all while enjoying some great food and drink.”
The Karbon Grill Kitchen and Bar, named in honour of its grill-based menu and Sunderland’s industrial heritage, is part of the new Hilton Garden Inn, Sunderland
The hotel, which launched earlier this month, has already sold out all 141 en-suite bedrooms forFriday night and pre-booking for the 100 plus seater Karbon Grill Kitchen and Bar is highly advised.
