AB Connexions Supporters shortAsian Business Connexions, founded in 2009 by leading North East Asian businessman Ammar Mirza CBE, are hosting their ABC Annual Awards Dinner in Newcastle on Thursday 14th July with support and sponsorship from local businesses and speakers James Wharton, Northern Powerhouse Minister, the President of Yorkshire Asian Business Association, Ajaz Ahmad and Deputy Commander of the Army North, Col Mike Butterwick.

The evening will see the Asian business community from the North East, Yorkshire and the North West joining forces with other key regional businesses, where five awards will be presented to Asian businesses and organisations who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the social and economic wellbeing in the North East region.

For the past seven years AB Connexions, a not-for-profit organisation, has helped connect, support and promote a wide range of individuals and organisations. Their successes includes delivering a broad series of training programmes that help businesses and individuals grow. Working with various institutes, AB Connexions have delivered employability programmes, education initiatives, community activities and a whole lot more, all in an effort to improve life choices and enhance life chances for all of the people within the North East.

On the evening Asian business organisations from the North West, Yorkshire and North East will come together to launch the Federation of Asian Business, a true collaboration of like minded visionaries to help support and promote the Northern Powerhouse.

Ammar Mirza says ” The seventh awards dinner will be the most prominent event we have hosted to date as we are also launching the Federation of Asian Business here in Newcastle, which I’m extremely proud of.  I’m delighted with the support and interest from our sponsors. If you want your business to connect with the Asian business community, this is the perfect opportunity.”

This promises to be an evening of business and cultural diversity that is typical of the wonderful region we are all part of, along with being filled with fun and celebration and a whole host of entertainment. Tickets are only £60 each or £550 for tables of 10 and include a 5 course authentic Punjabi meal. All organisations or individuals taking a table will be included within promotional material.  There will also be a raffle in aid of the Percy Hedley Foundation with all  proceeds going to this worthwhile cause.

Sheila Coltman, Corporate Partnerships Manager at the Percy Hedley Foundation said “Our partnership  work with local organisations such as Asian Business Connexions is vital to us. Without their support and help, which comes in many shapes and forms, we could not continue to offer as many specialist services to disabled people. We are truly honoured and very grateful for all the longstanding support we receive from ABC as it makes an enormous difference to  the lives of local disabled children, young people and adults”.

Current sponsors and supporters include Microsoft, North East LEP, Lloyd Newcastle BMW, AmmarM, SME Centre of Excellence, Square One Law, The Beacon and  Skylight Events.

Richard Skinner, General Sales Manager of Lloyds Newcastle BMW  and an event sponsor says ” When I heard about these awards, I was very keen for us to be involved as it promises to be a fantastic evening promoting so many great things about our region.”

The dinner is being held at The Beacon in Newcastle with some sponsorship opportunities still available which include a whole host of benefits for those organisations that are able to support the event.  Should you wish to discuss sponsorship opportunities please contact Nadeem Ahmad at 0844 2477705.
