Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Meet the sweet sixteen hopefuls with dreams of being crowned Miss Tees Valley 2019.

Sixteen girls will compete for the Miss Tees Valley crown this weekend including representatives of Middlesbrough, Stockton, Ingleby Barwick, Billingham, Elton and Marske.

Sponsored by Cleveland Centre for a sixth successive year, the Miss Tees Valley final will take place in the ballroom of The Swan Hotel in Billingham on Friday evening.

Middlesbrough will be represented in this year’s final by 27-year-old Sophia Din, students Ailiyah Batty, 16, and Katy Moss, 17, and 23-yearold catering assistant Lucy Franklin.

They’ll be joined by 16-year-old students Annaleigh Wathen, from Stockton, and Jasmine Margetts, from Billingham, together with more Billingham girls, 28-year-old full-time mum Terri O’Hagan and student Sophie Boyer, 18.

Teesside will also be represented by 17-year-old Marske business administration apprentice Abbie McCleod, 16-year-old Ingleby Barwick student Hannah Mucklow, 18-year-old Elton girl Morgann Henderson, a home help for social services, and Ferryhill student Abby Barnesy, 17.

Finalists from slightly further afield are Spennymoor student Ella Ward, 18, plus 17-year-old student Emily Ewart, 29-year-old armed forces employee Jacey Bradbury and 23-year-old student Jessica Brady, all from Sunderland.

Cleveland Centre manager Graeme Skillen said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Miss Tees Valley once again. This isn’t so much a beauty contest but about finding a talented ambassador for the Tees Valley area.”

The 2018 Miss Tees Valley winner Megan Daniels, who went on to represent the region at the Top Model of England competition, joined this year’s finalists at a Cleveland Centre photo shoot.

This year Miss Tees Valley finalists are raising funds for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Normanby, Middlesbrough, and the MFC Foundation, with £70,000 raised for local charities over the past four years.

The winner of Miss Tees Valley will qualify for the final of Supermodel England 2020, with prizes including an all-expenses-paid five-star trip to the Top Model of the World International Final.

They will also become the face of the Cleveland Centre, receive £500 to spend in the shopping centre’s stores, win a makeover, manicure and photography session from Flawless Photography Studios, £100-worth of Lunaluxa products and £100 gift card for the Dressworx
