The National Youth Film Academy is coming to the North East on the lookout for the best up and coming young actors and filmmakers.
The organisation, whose head office is based in Gateshead, offers 10 day Introductory Courses at Easter and during the Summer for young people aged 16-25 across the country who want to break into the film industry.
The course is residential and takes place at the fantastic Ravensbourne College, next to the o2 Arena in London. Across the two weeks participants are given the opportunity to develop and produce their own short film, which is then showcased to friends and family at a local picturehouse.
There are also masterclasses throughout the course, with previous mentors having included actor Simon Bird, best known for his portrayal of Will McKenzie in The Inbetweeners and Gareth Edwards, who directed Star Wars: Rogue One.
Participants are assessed on their talent, enthusiasm and professionalism, with the very best invited to become full members of the National Youth Film Academy.
The organisation offers representation through a feeder agency for its actors and access to exciting job opportunities for its filmmaking members.
Interview days for the Summer 2018 course are being held across the major regions of the UK early over the next couple of months.
Talent scouts will be in Newcastle for the second time on Sunday 10 March 2018 and young people from across Northumberland, North Tyneside and Tyne and Wear are being invited to register to interview.
