Aimed at complete novices to improvers, the runs are open to everyone and  are held in partnership with the Allertonshire Junior Athletics Club who provide the coach – Steven Middleton (pictured with some of the group).

“It was great to see so many people at the first session,” said David Earl, Hambleton District Council’s Development Officer – Health and Wellbeing.

“The activity park is a superb venue for running. It is easily accessible from the A19, but gives a sense of running in the countryside and provides all of the health benefits and feeling of wellbeing.

“You may have thought about taking up running, but don’t know where to start, or you maybe don’t want to run alone.  The sessions will run for eight weeks and you can join anytime you like. The sessions will help you get started alongside other like-minded runners or beginners and guide you on your running journey – whilst having fun at the same time.”

The runs take place every Saturday morning from 11am – 12 noon at the Hillside Rural Activity Park, Knayton.
