Greaves West & Ayre chartered accountants is delighted to welcome a new senior member of staff.  Wendy Strathdee has joined the firm as Head of Bookkeeping.  In this newly created position Wendy heads up a team of seven staff who deal with all bookkeeping matters including the preparation of VAT returns.  As well as day to day bookkeeping needs, the team are also able to advise and provide training on a range of accounting software. Wendy, who lives in Kelso, has over 30 years of bookkeeping experience. She most recently worked for 6 years as Bookkeeping and VAT Manager with Douglas Home accountants.

The appointment of key staff is part of Greaves West & Ayre’s strategy to future-proof itself in an industry that is becoming increasingly more digital.  The recent appointment of Wendy and other experienced staff to GWA’s bookkeeping team gives a boost to both the firm’s expertise and capacity to provide quality advice and quality service.  A vital role for Wendy and her team will be to support GWA’s partners in preparing clients for new digital reporting requirements being rolled out to all businesses under the government’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ (MTD) initiative.  Although the details of how and when this scheme will be implemented are still to be finalised, there is no doubt that the implications for businesses are huge and early planning is recommended.

If you have any questions regarding MTD, GWA’s bookkeeping services, digital accounts or software then please get in touch.
