The Conservative Party candidate Caroline Anne Dickinson has been elected as member for the Northallerton division to North Yorkshire County Council.
The by-election, which took place yesterday, was called following the death of Conservative county councillor Tony Hall.
The full result was:
- Michael Edwin Chaloner (Green), 58 votes
- Caroline Anne Dickinson (Conservative), 654 votes
- Chris Pearson (Yorkshire First), 131 votes
- Stephen Anthony Place (UKIP), 278 votes
- David Tickle (Labour), 233 votes
The turn-out was 22.19 per cent of the electorate.
