Red House Academy, which is one of ten secondary academies sponsored by the Northern Education Trust (NET), is celebrating the success of one of its GCSE students who achieved the new Grade 9 in mathematics, placing him in the top three percent in the country – a remarkable achievement.
There were some other notable successes. Kieran Humphries has results which show outstanding progress across the board while Luke Docherty achieved 11 passes including seven at A or A*.
Commenting on this year’s results, Therese Quincey, principal, wished to thank her teaching staff and students for the dedication and commitment they have shown. she said:
“It is always a privilege to see the results of individual student’s hard work, supported by staff, who are dedicated in overcoming barriers and mentoring students through the national changes evidenced this year. Our aim is to ensure that every child fulfils their potential and is fully equipped to proceed confidently to the next stage in their life – whether this is into further study or into training. All of our students now have an intended destination as a result of our outstanding careers provision. Next year we will do even better.”
