Students Build Dating Sit to get EU Citizens British Visas

Nothing without the EUBrixton based advertising students Katy Edelsten and Chloe Cordon have created a dating website to help solve the increase in hate crimes after the Brexit vote.

The aim is to help EU citizens living in the UK connect with a British passport holder, with the ultimate goal of them getting married and having a British visa. The website allows people to sign up free of charge, and search depending on their residential status within the UK, filling in whether they are a British passport holder, or an EU citizen.

They are then connected to the hopefuls, who they can private message, and arrange a date with. The girls hope that it will actually help to develop some true, lifelong relationships, and are looking forward to the wedding invites.

They hope to have seen some success before we Brexit, and plan on crowdfunding money to pay for as many of the weddings as possible, when the site makes it big.

Chloe, comments, “We study in a really diverse, multicultural school, which has benefitted us as people in so many ways. When we heard the result of the vote, there was a lot of uncertainty amongst our friends, and we really wanted to do something about it.”

Katy, comments, “I just really love love. And I’ve always wanted to own a dating site.”
