TEESSIDE care homes are hosting an Alzheimer’s Memory Walk as part of a national campaign across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Beeches and The Gables Care Homes are staging the walk in Albert Park in Middlesbrough and have invited the local community to join staff and residents.
Liz Jones, Customer Relations Officer at the Hill Care Group, which operates the homes, said: “The walk is only 2km so anyone can take part – from grandparents to grandchildren – everyone is welcome.
“The walk is to raise money for a world without dementia, so if you’re not able to take part we’d welcome any and all donations through our Just Giving page.”
Liz added: “We have a number of residents with dementia in our homes, so this is a cause very close to our hearts.”
If you are interested in taking part in the walk, participants are asked to arrive at the Porthole Café in Albert Park at 1:45pm on Tuesday, 8th September.
