The Profound Group, based in Bracken Hill Business Park, hosted a coffee morning in support of Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.’
The event is hosted across the UK annually to raise funds for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Profound Group Fundraising Team, which consists of former apprentices, planned and hosted the event that raised £800 for the charity.
Dozens of community members joined the coffee morning to tuck into some cake, win prizes and listen to North East based guest singer Sarah Dee.
Leah Liston, who helped organise the event, said: “We had so many donations of cakes and prizes.
The atmosphere was great and we felt so overwhelmed when counting the donations.”
Fundraising Manager Liz Airey praised the Profound Group for their fundraising efforts, commenting:
“It’s fantastic to have local businesses supporting Macmillan. I would like to say a huge thank you to Profound Group for their efforts, they have done a fantastic job raising money to help local people who are affected by cancer.”
Macmillan provides healthcare and many other forms of support including learning and development, information and advice, and financial support. The charity campaigns to raise awareness of how to make changes to improve the lives of those affected by cancer

Steven Ward, Chair of the Profound Group, commented: “We’re so proud to support a charity like Macmillan Cancer Support and participate in their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The morning exceeded expectations across the business park and amongst the community who joined us to raise funds.”
