Tunstall Apprentices Cohort 2022

Tunstall Healthcare, the global health and care technology solutions provider, is celebrating after five members of its first ever field services apprenticeship cohort have accepted full time roles with the firm.

The new programme was set up to offer specialist training in the maintenance and repair of technology enabled care systems and associated systems, such as access control and emergency lighting, investing in the next generation of the workforce. Over the course of the last three years, the apprentices have been able to fully immerse themselves in the day-to-day of life at Tunstall and meet the strict criteria required of field service engineers at the firm.

The apprentices have undertaken the course, which has included a mix of college-based learning and field work, along with a mentorship programme with fully qualified engineers. The apprentices have also all spent time with various departments within the business, as well as receiving formal training on Tunstall’s product portfolio.

Mark Moorcroft, one of Tunstall’s first ever field service apprentices said of the programme: “I have loved training alongside other engineers and getting to know the team as a whole. Everyone at Tunstall has ensured that the apprentices have had comprehensive mentoring throughout the programme, helping us settle in and feel really welcome. The best part for me is seeing how thankful the end user is for the service we provide – it makes it all worth it.”

Following the success of the apprenticeship scheme, the firm has already advanced plans for a further intake later this year. Tunstall also offers other apprenticeships within the business, in diverse areas such as IT, HR and finance.

Gavin Bashar, UK and Ireland Managing Director at Tunstall says: “We have rigorous training and testing processes for all our positions, and these new field service engineers are no exception. We are thrilled to offer our apprenticeship cohort full-time roles with the firm, and even more excited that they have all accepted.

“This new programme has been a huge success for us, and we’re looking forward to offering the programme again as we open the recruitment process for more field service apprentices.”
