Tyne Tunnels team back Strictly Star on new digital boards

The Tyne Tunnels team is supporting local lad Chris Ramsey in his bid to lift the Strictly Come Dancing glitterball trophy, by encouraging customers to vote for him on the hit BBC show using its digital boards.

The South Shields funny man, who found fame in the tv comedy Hebburn, has performed the cha-cha-cha and the Charleston with professional partner Karen Haeur, and broke the record for the biggest jump in score between week one and two.

The team at the Tyne Tunnels has created a selection of adverts to place on the digital boards on both sides of the river, showing support for Chris as he goes into Movie Week and beyond.

Sam Lincoln, marketing and communications officer at TT2 Limited, operators of the Tyne Tunnels, said: “It’s fantastic to see Chris Ramsey representing Tyneside with good humour, passion and drive. He’s clearly having a lot of fun learning the new routines with Karen and giving it his best shot.

“We’d love to see Chris make it to Blackpool and even lifting the coveted glitterball trophy, so we’re encouraging customers to vote for him when the lines open on a Saturday night – not while driving, of course!

“We’re encouraging everyone to get behind Chris and show him some support to make sure he keeps dancing!”
