Vertu Honda helps St Oswald’s fundraising drive

18182Three North East Vertu Honda dealerships have banded together to help raise funds for local charity, St Oswald’s Hospice, by donating a brand new car to its fundraising raffle.

Vertu Honda, with dealerships in Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham has donated the brand new Honda Jazz 1.4 i-VTEC ES Plus, to the Hospice, which provides palliative care to adults, children and young people from the North East.

Raffle tickets are just £1 and can be purchased at Vertu Honda dealerships in Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, at any St Oswald’s shops and at various events across the region and on line at www.stoswaldsuk.org. The winning ticket will be drawn at the charity’s Christmas Market on Saturday 28 November.

St Oswald’s Hospice is aiming to raise £45,000 from the raffle, which will go towards meeting the £7 million it needs to raise every year through its own fundraising in order to continue to deliver its high quality service to those in need in the North East.

Helen Alderson, fundraising coordinator for St Oswald’s Hospice said: “Our Annual Raffle is doing really well this year and we are delighted to have the support of Vertu Honda.

“Throughout the summer, my team have been out and about across the region at different events, promoting the raffle, and it’s been great to be able to take the star prize – the Honda Jazz – along with us. It’s proved to be a real talking point and has helped us to sell more tickets at our raffle roadshows than ever before.

“The raffle will be drawn on 28th of November, at our Christmas Market, so there is plenty of time to buy tickets and be in with a chance of winning. If you can’t make it to one of our events, tickets are available from any of our shops or on our website.”

David Crane, commercial director at Vertu Motors plc, said: “The team at St Oswald’s Hospice does incredible work offering care and support to those who need it most, when they need it most.

“St Oswald’s Hospice provides a crucial service for people across the North East and it is vitally important that local businesses offer as much support as possible to its fundraising efforts. We’re proud to be able to help.”

The fundraising team from St Oswald’s Hospice will be selling raffle tickets at Asda at the Living North Christmas Fair on Thursday 5 November.
