‘The H&H Young Rural Entrepreneur Programme’ will provide free business accommodation for a young enterprising person for the period of one year. The successful candidate will also be provided with a business mentoring programme, full support and use of the facilities of Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services (UTASS).
The criteria requires that all potential candidates are located within the Teesdale area, application forms must be completed and submitted, and all successful applicants will be required to attend a ‘panel’ interview. Applications are open to dynamic young people aged between 18 and 30 who can demonstrate a clear business vision for the future. The programme, which is worth £3000 per year, includes BT telephone and broadband; the only additional utility cost would be for the electricity. All applications should be submitted by Monday 21st March.
H&H Land and Property and UTASS have a shared synergy, with both organisations supporting and helping a range of rural businesses as Peter Hull, Director of H&H Land and Property explains:
“The aim of the programme is to support someone from the local area. Working with UTASS who originally set up the Middleton hub we have been able to combine our resources to offer this innovative programme to a young rural entrepreneur.”
Peter goes on to say: “This is a superb opportunity for someone who is currently working from home who would like to further develop their business, or alternatively for an enterprise just starting out and who needs to set up an office base.”
Located in one of the four business units, which were opened in August 2014 in The Aspire Building within Middleton Auction Mart, the successful applicant will have use of a self–contained office or business space. They will also benefit from mentoring support covering business strategy, accountancy, marketing and promotions. A selection of workshops and training will also be available throughout the year.
Based at the Middleton-in-Teesdale auction mart, the facilities are purpose built, providing a business community with other rural business located within the hub. Being a small business in an enterprise zone there will be a range of support available from the people within UTASS including business support, office space, co-working, meeting rooms and communal space.
H&H Land and Property are keen to engage with the local community and as one of the largest firms of chartered surveyors and specialist rural advisors; they offer an extensive range of expertise throughout the north of England.
