A MULTI-AWARD winning musician heads to a North East festival this summer, for his debut performance in the region.
Hardwick Live Festival returns to Hardwick Hall Hotel, at Sedgefield, County Durham, from 17 to 18 August, with four stages of bands and DJs and headline performances from Manic Street Preachers and James.
And festival-goers can get Into The Groove with Ziggy Marley, when he takes to the stage on Saturday.
The son of Bob Marley, Ziggy’s career began when he formed the group Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers with his siblings, going on to release eight best-selling albums and win three Grammys.
The singer found huge success as a solo artist after releasing his debut album in 2003, winning a further five Grammy awards since then and receiving rave reviews for his most recent album, Rebellion Rises.
“We are delighted to be hosting Ziggy Marley for his first ever gig in the North East – and there is no better place for him to make his debut than the Hardwick Live Festival stage,” said John Adamson, who owns Hardwick Hall Hotel.
“Ziggy is an incredibly talented artist with a huge catalogue of hits and I’m certain he will make his first show in the region one to remember.
“We have an amazing line-up for the festival this year, with a whole host of plans still in the works, and it is shaping up to be one of the best events we have held yet.”
Other acts on the bill over the weekend include The Zutons, Lisa Stansfield, Stiff Little Fingers, Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, Billy Bragg, The Sherlocks and The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club.
Festival-goers can also make the most of the new dance arena at the Coachhouse Courtyard for the first time, which will be home to elite party brand Glitterbox on Saturday and Retro on Sunday.
And DJ fans can enjoy sets from headliners Denney, Mark Jenkyns and Elliot Adamson when they take to the decks over the weekend.
Tickets for this year’s Hardwick Live Festival are currently on sale at £55 for one day or £99 for both days. Concessions are available for children and 13-17-year-olds.
Camping and glamping options are also available for those who want to immerse themselves in the festival experience.
