ADVENTURE cycle rides for families have been organised to take place in two of Middlesbrough’s favourite green spaces.
Middlesbrough Environment City’s One Planet Middlesbrough project, the Cycle Academy and the Free Range Kids project are putting on the events during the Easter holidays.
The fun and safe activities are free and will be led by MEC’s trained Outdoor Play officer.
The rides will take place on:
- Tuesday, March 31 from 10am-1pm at Maze Park, opposite Tees Barrage. Families can then enjoy a bug hunt around the nature reserve. The ride is approximately 2 miles or 40 minutes long each way.
- Tuesday, April 7 from 10am–2pm at Foxes Wood, behind Acklam Grange school and Hesleden Avenue. With games to enjoy, the ride is 3.5 miles or 80 minutes long each way and refreshments will be provided on this ride.
Both rides aim to boost sustainable transport across Middlesbrough by encouraging people to cycle for fun, for travel, to improve health and save money.
These sessions must be booked in advance to secure a place and children must be able to ride the distance of the ride they want to take part in.
