London Lions’ unbeaten start to the BBL Championship came to an end on Friday night, while Esh Group Eagles Newcastle recorded a convincing win on the road.
The Lions fell to a 101-86 defeat away at DBL Sharks Sheffield as Mike Tuck and Kyle Odister netted 22 points apiece.
Meanwhile, the Eagles pulled clear in the second half as they earned a 67-87 success over Worcester Wolves with Rahmon Fletcher scoring 22 points.

DBL Sharks Sheffield ended London Lions’ unbeaten start to the season after claiming a 101-86 victory, on Friday night.
The home side put together a strong third quarter which proved pivotal as they improved to a 4-5 record.
Mike Tuck and Kyle Odister shared 44 points, while Zach Gachette added a vital contribution of 20 points.
Both teams made an impressive shooting start with the Lions edging a high-scoring opening period, 25-27. The free-flowing offences continued in the second and the game was level at 50 heading into the break.
Kai Williams hit a triple to put the Lions up 60-61 in the third, but the Sharks scored the final 14 points of the period capped by Colin Sing’s triple.
Sheffield extended their lead to 18 points and were not troubled in the final quarter as they eventually secured a 15-point triumph.
Zaire Taylor had 24 points and 10 assists for the Lions as their perfect record came to an end.

Esh Group Eagles Newcastle improved to 7-1 in the BBL Championship after recording a convincing 67-87 victory over Worcester Wolves.
Five players reached double figures for the Eagles as they pulled clear in the second half to inflict a fifth defeat on Worcester.
Rahmon Fletcher top scored with 20 points and handed out six assists, while Deondre Parks marked his return from injury with 13 points in the win.
The home side led 10-9 after nearly five minutes of play before the Eagles responded with 12 unanswered to take control. Newcastle moved further clear in the second and a 9-0 run put them up by 16 at 19-35.
However, Worcester rallied in the final three minutes of the half with an 11-0 run to cut the gap to just five going into the interval.
Wolves were still in contention, down six at the midpoint in the third, but five points from Fletcher sparked a 13-0 run from the Eagles as they made their charge.
Joe Hart netted from three at the end of the period to extend the lead beyond 20 points and the damage was done with no way back for Paul James’ side.

Leeds Force defended home court on Sunday afternoon, while Plymouth Raiders and Worcester Wolves earned victories on the road.
Force came from behind to beat Surrey Scorchers 76-62 with Rob Marsden finishing with an impressive 12 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in the win.
Meanwhile, Plymouth pulled clear for an 84-93 win at Cheshire Phoenix behind 29 points from Anton Grady.
Also, Worcester held off Manchester Giants’ fightback with Marek Klassen handing out 14 assists in his side’s 84-91 triumph.

Leeds Force returned to winning ways after claiming a 76-62 victory at home to Surrey Scorchers.
Jermaine Sanders and Jack Isenbarger combined for 37 points in the win, while Rob Marsden came up big with 12 points, 16 rebounds as well as seven assists.
Clayfell Harris also added a double-double as he finished with 14 points and 11 boards to help Force improve to 2-4.
Leeds had raced out to an early lead, but the visitors dominated the middle period of the first to take control.
Surrey continued their momentum in the second and opened up an eight-point lead with captain Tayo Ogedengbe leading the charge with 15 of his eventual 18 points in the first half. Force responded to cut the gap, but went into the interval, trailing by five.
However, the home side turned things around in the second half with a 12-0 run capped by triples from Sanders as Isenbarger as Leeds stormed ahead and would take an 11-point advantage into the final period.
Surrey cut the gap to 10 before going almost four minutes without scoring as the home side capitalised to wrap up the win in style with Harris scoring seven points late on.
The Scorchers are now 2-8 ahead of Wednesday’s clash in the capital against London Lions.

Worcester Wolves 91 (31,56,78) (Bachman/Huffor 21, Navajas 19)
Worcester Wolves bounced back from Friday’s defeat to record an 84-91 victory away at Manchester Giants.
Andrew Bachman and Danny Huffor scored 21 points apiece, while Marek Klassen had 14 assists to go with 13 points in the win.
Wolves raced out of the blocks and Bachman netted three of his five first quarter triples in a 16-0 start for the visitors. Klassen dished out eight assists during the period as his side established a 16-31 advantage.
Manchester had rallied with six points from Sam Toluwase and despite being down as many as 24 in the second, they put together an 8-0 run and Toluwase then netted from downtown at the buzzer.
The Giants continued their fightback and closed to within nine points during the third before the visitors pushed the lead out to 14 with 10 minutes remaining.
Worcester maintained their firm advantage and led 73-88 with under four to go, but the Giants produced a late 9-1 surge to apply pressure, though it proved too late to change the outcome.
Toluwase finished with a game-high 26 for the Giants as their comeback effort fell short with Callum Jones adding 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Plymouth Raiders 93 (18,48,67) (Grady 29, Carter 24, Nicholas/Dixon 16)
Plymouth Raiders claimed their fourth league win of the season after beating Cheshire Phoenix 84-93 on the road.
Anton Grady led the way with 29 points and nine rebounds with Rhys Carter weighing in with 24 points to help Raiders record a big away victory.
After an even start, the Raiders closed the opening period with a 7-1 run before their offence began to flow in the second with 30 points poured in.
A three from Daryl Corletto put his side up 14 and the Raiders would still hold a comfortable cushion by half-time with a 10-point lead.
Cheshire started their comeback in the second half and managed to halve their deficit by the end of the third despite starting with a 9-0 run.
The home side were within two twice in the fourth, but were unable to make the breakthrough required and Plymouth kept their opponents at bay with Grady scoring 10 points in the closing stages to seal the win.
Phoenix were led by Raheem May-Thompson’s 19 points as they drop to 2-5 with Josh Wilcher adding 17 points and seven assists against his former side.
