Local Housebuilder, Barratt Homes, hosts interior design workshop run by Durham-based interior design expert.
Local five-star housebuilder Barratt Homes has recently worked with interior design consultant, Helen Johnson, to host an innovative interior decorating masterclass at its Burton Woods show home in Spennymoor, Durham. The event comes as part of celebrations happening throughout May across the region to mark the 60th anniversary of the North East-founded housebuilder.
The masterclass, which took place on the 17th of May, was open to the public and focused on how new home owners could successfully decorate their homes on a budget, covering topics such as; getting the basics right, using colour confidently, how to create a mood board, making the most of your budget, and wallpaper vs paint. With several years’ experience, Helen knows a thing or two about breathing life into blank canvases, expressing yourself through your decor choice and the ‘up-cycling’ trend that has swept the nation’s interior design appetite.
Speaking on the event, Helen said: “I was thrilled to collaborate with Barratt Homes. Since I am the proud owner of one a Barratt Home myself, it is a complete pleasure to pass on my design tips and know-how to other new homeowners. Starting off with a completely blank canvas can be quite daunting, so showing others how to decorate with confidence and making the most of that canvas was really exciting”.
