Tune-Yards plus Boogarins

Indie-pop duo Tune-Yards return to Sage Gateshead in March 2018 following the release of their new album, I can feel you creep into my private life.
The album comes four years after their previous record, Nikki Nack. Now, the band return with 12 new songs tackling head on race, politics, intersectional feminism and environmental prophecies with their signature style of upbeat and catchy music.
Lead by New England native Merrill Garbus, the band’s sound is characterised by their low-fi yet visceral art-pop, with Garbus’ orchestrating a range of instruments, from loop pedals, ukulele, vocals, and lo-fi percussion, accompanied by Nate Brenner on electric bass.

Sarah Darling

Following her opening slots for chart toppers Ward Thomas, touring the UK with her own Night in Nashville shows, and performing at the C2C: Country to Country festival in 2016 and 2017, Sarah Darling announces her biggest UK headline tour to date.
The American singer-songwriter, who made her name on the E! Entertainment Television reality show The Entertainer, will be delighting audiences in venues across the UK throughout 2018.
Sarah has made a number of television appearances in her native US, as well as releasing three studio albums and two EPs. She has released 12 singles to date, including covers of U2’s With or Without You and Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths.

Joe Bonamassa

Following Joe Bonamassa’s two sold out concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall shows in April 2017, the celebrated blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter, is pleased to announce that he will return to the UK in March 2018 to perform seven concerts.
The forthcoming UK tour follows hot on the heels of Joe’s critically acclaimed studio album, Blues of Desperation, which reached number three in the Official UK Album Chart, followed last month by the release of his live acoustic album, Joe Bonamassa: Live at Carnegie Hall.
The March 2018 UK tour will feature Joe alongside a hand-picked group of world-class musicians playing material from Blues of Desperation, plus classic Bonamassa fan favourites.

Moya Brennan

When Bono stated recently, “I think she has one of the greatest voices the human ear has ever experienced”, he was heralding what many people know already about The Voice of Clannad, Moya Brennan. She sings like nothing you’ve ever heard before! So, it makes sense that her live solo shows – with all the musicality and power of Clannad but with added, heart-warming intimacy – should be such a rich and moving experience. Her effortless vocals and timeless music pay homage not only to her vibrant traditional Irish heritage, but also her grasp of contemporary forms.
With Clannad she rose to prominence with a pioneering approach to traditional music which has garnered them 15 million record sales worldwide and a string of awards, including a Grammy in 1998. Their sound has since become the benchmark for the Celtic music genre. Sister Enya joined Clannad for a time before pursuing her own successful career.
Moya’s solo career has continued that success with eight albums to her credit and more in the pipeline. Her live show has developed into a visual, as well as sound, spectacle with rhythm, atmosphere and vibrant harmony.
Besides her solo work Moya has been much in demand for a number of other projects and is both vociferous and active in her championing of Irish arts and culture abroad. Her career to date includes 25 albums, numerous film scores and she has sung with many great artists, including The Chieftains, Robert Plant, Paul Brady, Shane MacGowan and, of course, Bono.
Her voice continues to be in demand in dance music and includes collaborations with Chicane (Saltwater), DJ Roger Shah and Schiller.
In recent years she has been involved in two exciting collaborations; Firstly with three renowned Irish female singers as T with the Maggies (Moya, Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh (Altan) and Maighread & Triona Ni Dhomhnaill (Skara Brae, Bothy Band, Coolfin) and also as Voices & Harps with renowned Irish harpist, Cormac De Barra.

From writing hits for other artists to recording her own, twice Grammy-nominated, Nashville based singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman has truly embraced musical diversity.
A breast cancer survivor, environmental activist, teacher of workshops and lecturer on the magic of creativity, she’s penned numerous hits and written songs for many top artists, including Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Bette Midler, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Michael McDonald, Amy Grant, Keb Mo’, Roberta Flack, Waylon Jennings, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, Bette Lavette and many more.
Her music has been heard on TV and in film, including ER, Dawson’s Creek, Calendar Girls and Practical Magic. Mega-hit This Kiss, sung by Faith Hill, was ASCAP’S 1999 Song of The Year, garnered a Grammy nomination and Nashville NAMMY’S 1999 Songwriter of the Year.
In 2016, Beth was inducted into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

Police Dog Hogan

Police Dog Hogan, first formed in 2009, has evolved over the years into a tight-knit eight-piece band combining guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, accordion, trumpet, keyboards, bass and drums to create an exuberant fusing of country, pop, folk and rocking bluegrass.
In 2014 Police Dog Hogan were one of only three UK bands invited to Nashville to perform at the prestigious Americana Music Association Awards, where DJ Bob Harris, in town for the awards, snapped them up for a recording that has become one of the most-watched YouTube videos on his Under the Apple Tree Sessionschannel. In 2015 they made a showcase appearance on Harris’s Radio 2 show.
The band has repeatedly been offered headline and other spots on the main stages of numerous key festivals, among many others, they have been asked back an unprecedented three times to Larmer Tree, twice to Kendal Calling and Port Eliot, and three times to Cornbury. In 2016 they appeared at Glastonbury for the first time, on the Avalon stage.
The band regularly plays to sell-out audiences up and down the country. After more than 300 live shows they’ve become a serious and ambitious musical venture that marries a devotion to touring and the presentation of consummate live performances with an utter dedication to song writing and recording.

Fisherman’s Friends

Bound together by lifelong friendship and shared experience for more than 25 years, the Fisherman’s Friends have met on the Platt (harbour) in their native Port Isaac to raise money for charity, singing the traditional songs of the sea handed down to them by their forefathers.
In 2010 they signed a major record deal and their album Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends went Gold, as they became the first traditional folk act to land a UK top ten album. Since then they’ve been the subject of an ITV documentary, released the hit albums One and All (2013) and Proper Job (2015) and played to hundreds of thousands of fans at home and abroad.
Fisherman’s Friends sang for HM The Queen at her Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012 and were selected to sing for Prince Charles and Camilla during their 2016 tour of Cornwall. They were honoured with the Good Tradition Award at the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2011.
Other standout performances include the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Beautiful Days, Sidmouth Folk Week, Looe Music Festival, Costa del Folk in Portugal and the BBC Proms in the Park.
The Fisherman’s Friends have been widely credited with starting the revival of interest in shanty-style choral singing but a cornerstone of their success has been their constantly evolving and expanding repertoire.

The year 2018 marks half a century since the formation of the legendary group YES, one of the biggest bands in prog-rock history and true pioneers of the genre. To celebrate this remarkable milestone YES embark on a ten date tour of the UK.
On this not-to-be-missed tour, YES, featuring Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison and Billy Sherwood, will showcase not only many of the band’s classic hits but performances of tracks from their 1973 album Tales from Topographic Oceans, which was the first YES album to top the UK album charts.
