For many families, hunting for the perfect Christmas tree is a tradition that marks the start of the festive season.
This year, real Christmas trees will be on sale at three of the council’s countryside sites, Guisborough Forest & Walkway, Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park and Kirkleatham Museum and Grounds.
From your traditional looking Christmas tree, the Norway Spruce to the distinctive Nordmann fir, there are trees for all tastes.
Councillor Carl Quartermain, cabinet member for culture, tourism and communications at the council, said: “All the money from our Christmas tree sales goes back into each of our country sites and the events they host, so we’re encouraging people to visit Guisborough Forest & Walkway, Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park or Kirkleatham Museum for their Christmas tree this year.
“All the trees are freshly cut and grown in sustainable woodlands, meaning that more trees are planted to take the place of those felled. Most of the Norway spruce will come from the Forestry Commission’s North York Moors woods.
“It would be great if people could support our wonderful country parks which host fantastic events all year round.”
