A long awaited housing development from Northumberland’s, award-winning housebuilder, Ascent Homes, should prove highly popular for those who love the idea of being near the seaside.

Commissioners Quay, Ascent Homes’ ninth housing development, which is located on Blyth’s waterfront, has been designed as a series of short terraces, giving every new home a view of the Quayside and many, a direct sea view.

Initially showcased at the Tall Ships Blyth 2016, Commissioners Quay caused a stir amongst potential buyers with many expressing an interest to purchase once the site went live.  For those people, the wait is finally over.

The development offers a mix of 41 new homes, each with two parking spaces and comprising 15 two-bedroom homes, 8 three-bedroom homes with gardens and 18 three-bedroom homes overlooking the river.

Tall windows will facilitate the stunning waterfront and sea view vistas while simple, repeating brick facades echo the character of the adjacent conservation area.  The roofline of some of the terraces harks back to the site’s industrial past and many properties will also benefit from roof terraces to maximise their aspect.

Perfect for families or those wishing to downsize, the housing types offer light and airy accommodation and those properties overlooking the river will benefit from larger balconies.   All will benefit from a high quality modern and contemporary internal and external specification, which have established Ascent Homes as one of the premier housing developers in the region.

Speaking about bringing contemporary living to the Blyth coast line, Claire Scott/Duncan Bowman, Head of Sales and Marketing/Development Director for Ascent Homes, said:

“We are delighted that the Commissioners Quay scheme is finally underway.  This development is another example of Ascent Homes delivering on its vision of creating desirable housing in unique locations.

“If the initial level of interest we experienced is anything to go by, we are expecting high demand for properties at Commissioners Quay.

“This area of Blyth is undergoing a huge transformation.  It has seen a series of multi-million-pound investments in the recent past, all of which are contributing to the revival of the waterfront and I expect that Commissioners Quay, will build on this.

“Together with its superb location close to the sea, it is also well situated to access all of Blyth’s amenities, yet is still only 20 minutes from Newcastle city centre and the retail facilities of the Metrocentre.”

Construction of the new homes will be undertaken by Ascent Homes’ in-house construction team and work is due to start on site early next year and a site-based sales office will open in summer 2019.
