People in County Durham are being reminded that they need to be registered to vote if they wish to have their say in the forthcoming local elections.
County and parish council elections are due to take place on Thursday, 4 May.
Poll cards will be delivered to residents between Friday, 31 March and Monday, 3 April.
Anyone currently listed on the electoral register and eligible to vote in this election will receive a poll card providing details of their allocated polling station.
Anyone who is not registered is encouraged to register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote by Thursday, 13 April
People who are listed on the electoral register can request a postal or proxy vote. The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Tuesday, 18 April and for proxy vote applications is 5pm on Tuesday, 25 April.
