Azets appoints new Internal Auditor to boost education sector expertise
Azets, the UK’s largest regional accountancy and business advisors to SMEs, has announced the appointment of Manveer Sahajpal as an internal auditor in the firm’s Wynyard office to boost the firm’s assurance services offering, initially working with clients in the education sector across the North East.
Manveer is a graduate from Northumbria University. She joins the firm’s growing internal audit team from RSM. Manni has significant sector expertise working with public sector organisations including the NHS, Police, housing, academies and colleges.
Her new role at Azets will initially focus on Azets’ academy trust clients. Azets has an extensive portfolio of clients across the education sector and she will work closely with the firm’s sector experts around the country.
Graham Fitzgerald, Audit Partner at Azets in Wynyard and joint head of the firm’s Education Group said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Manveer to Azets. Her internal audit expertise will be invaluable for our academy trust clients. As a firm, we’re passionate about our specialist work with academies and other educational institutions in the North East, and we are looking to further develop our offering with input from Manveer and the wider internal audit team
Azets in the North East recently announced ambitious plans to grow within the next 5 years by increasing revenue three-fold by a combination of organic growth and compatible acquisitions creating around 100 additional, new jobs and taking turnover to around £30m. Last month they announced the £13 million acquisition of Tait Walker, one of the largest independent accountants and business advisors in the North East.
Joanne Regan, Regional Managing Partner at Azets in the North East added:
“There has never been a better time to think about joining Azets as we look to capitalise on growth to date and accelerate the next phase of development. We are actively looking to add talented people to our team in the North East at all levels, from school leavers to partners and everything in between. The region is booming thanks in part to high profile investments and it’s a great time to join a growing firm with ambitious plans.”
