Two big names in brand communications from across the region have joined forces to launch a new PR agency.  Jason Knights of Blue Kangaroo Design and Anne-Marie Lacey (nee Bailey), the Chartered Institute of Public Relations North East’s Outstanding Young Communicator, have today announced a new creative communications offering for businesses operating in the lifestyle, leisure and entertainment industries – Filament PR.

Based in County Durham, the duo will be working with clients in the North East, across the UK and beyond, providing strategic and tactical PR and communications services, including media and blogger relations, social media, content marketing and SEO PR.

Commenting on the launch, Jason Knights, Managing Director of Filament PR, said: “Having worked in the design and brand communications industry for over 10 years, I spotted a business opportunity to expand my interests to include a PR and communications agency a while ago, after several of my clients at Blue Kangaroo asked for recommendations of PR agencies.

“After meeting Anne-Marie and working with her on PR projects for Blue Kangaroo and seeing the benefits her work has brought to the business, I knew she was the right person to co-found and launch a PR agency with; if I can trust the reputation of my own business with Anne-Marie, I can confidently recommend my clients work with her too.”

Having already worked with a global household name in the entertainment industry ahead of the official launch, Filament PR is ready to welcome new customers into the portfolio.  From big-name brands to the supply chain that provides products to businesses in the lifestyle, leisure and entertainment sectors, the people behind Filament PR are already building an impressive portfolio of providing PR services with proven results.

Anne-Marie Lacey, PR and Communications Director at Filament PR, added: “How brands communicate with their customers and those that influence them is changing, and that provides businesses doing PR properly with so many opportunities.  That’s what we do; we’re the conduit between our clients and their customers, using our experience and expertise as trusted advisors, helping them to navigate these changes so they can engage effectively with their audiences.

“We’re about bright ideas powered by data-driven strategies and the tactical delivery of communications campaigns with a creative spark.  We get a real buzz from what we do, and that’s helping our clients to shine above and beyond their rivals in an often overcrowded and highly competitive market place; communicating with the right people, at the right time and in the right way, which ultimately helps to benefit their businesses.”

While Jason manages the day-to-day running of the business as well as maintaining his position at Blue Kangaroo Design, Anne-Marie will head up all client-facing work at Filament PR.  As an Accredited Member of the CIPR and Secretary of the North East regional group, Anne-Marie adheres to a Code of Conduct, investing heavily in her own Continuing Professional Development.

Jason concluded: “Having already built a successful business in brand communications, albeit at the other end of the spectrum focusing on design, I can tell you that the secret to success is nurturing relationships with clients; giving great customer service while doing an excellent job for them and looking after the people who support you along the way.

“Through Anne-Marie’s commitment to the CIPR, our clients at Filament PR can be assured they’re receiving a first-class service and all to the highest professional standards.   It’s these values which Anne-Marie and I share that make me confident Filament PR will soon emulate the success we’ve enjoyed at Blue Kangaroo. It’s an exciting time for us both and the future of the business is certainly looking very bright.”
