Single: Happily Ever After
Genre-blending Greek rockers Citizen Jim are gearing up for international takeoff with the release of their brand new single “Happily Ever After”, and a planned mini-tour in the UK for 2026. With a sound that’s equal parts surreal, rebellious and musically complex, the Athens-based band is ready to shake up the UK underground scene.
Mixing funk grooves with rock heaviness, experimental flourishes and socially observant lyrics, Citizen Jim are not easy to define — and that’s exactly the point. Their latest full-length album Bastard City received glowing praise from the Greek press for its fearless genre-hopping and unexpected emotional shifts, described as “lyrical experimentation… and a funky mood that innovates.”
“England, you taught us how to Rock’n’Roll,” the band say. “We have deep respect for a country that’s home to so many music legends — and we’d love to share our songs with that audience.”
Their shows are unpredictable, witty, and magnetic — with songs that bounce from cinematic soundscapes to hip-hop, then pivot to funk and back to rock again. Whether it’s the satirical swirl of “Sugar Tits” or the introspective chaos of “An Open Book,” Citizen Jim is a band that plays by no one’s rules.

The band is made up of a close-knit group of Athens musicians, some of whom play with major Greek artists like Fundracar and actress/singer Penelope Anastasopoulou. But Citizen Jim is where they let their freak flags fly — with lyrics that challenge, provoke, and often surprise. The band’s singer Dimitri, who studied psychology in Pennsylvania, brings philosophical depth and dark humour to their storytelling.
Their message? Be honest as much as possible. Everybody’s weird anyway.
They’ve already shared the stage with legendary Greek rapper Metzelos and continue to collaborate with notable names across the scene. Their fans include genre-hopping music lovers, underground scene junkies, and Greek rock fans both local and abroad.
