Eighty new jobs are to be created at a Newcastle-based company specialising in mis-sold payment protection insurance.

Allay is looking to boost its Newcastle call centre team on the back of growing consumer led demand for its services.

The company currently employs 20 call centre staff at its headquarters in Trafalgar Street, Newcastle.

But Allay is now taking on an extra 80 permanent employees, increasing the firm’s current workforce to 240 split across its centres in Newcastle, the North West, and Wales.

Allay is now working closely with fellow Newcastle-based company Solutions Recruitment, to identify and train suitable candidates to work exclusively on the PPI side of the business, which is expected to see particularly strong growth with a June 2019 deadline being proposed for people submitting such complaints.

Allay – whose owners have been working in the PPI field since 2007 – has helped thousands of clients win back millions of pounds in mis-sold payments.

Its success in recent years has seen it expand into other claims areas, however, including flight delays, mis-sold solar panels and alarm systems, packaged bank accounts, and timeshare and holiday club membership.

Steven Bell, Allay’s Managing Director, said: “Our business is growing at a fast pace, and we need to boost our call centre workforce to cope with the additional demand and ensure we continue to deliver an excellent service.

“Eighty staff is a lot of new roles to fill, and Allay is pleased to be working with Solutions Recruitment to this end. They are an experienced company in this field, a fellow Newcastle-based business, and have an impressive record for recruiting professional and reliable people from this region.

“Here at Allay we try and work with as many North East businesses as we can.”

With regards to the new jobs drive, Mr Bell added: “It will be a great opportunity for people to develop their career, learn new skills, and work for a dynamic and progressive North East-based company.

“It is fantastic news that Allay is growing the compensation side of the business, and as a result can both cement its position as a significant employer in Newcastle and increase its presence in this area.

“This announcement is confirmation of our commitment to the region, and by working in partnership with fellow North East companies like Solutions Recruitment wherever possible, to enhance this area’s reputation for excellence and innovation.”

Solutions Recruitment, which has its head office in Pilgrim Street, has recently become Allay’s recruitment partner of choice.

Andrew Mears, a Director at Solutions Recruitment, said: “We are delighted to be working with Allay on the next phase of their expansion. Allay are a significant employer in Newcastle city centre and

Solutions Recruitment are an experienced player in temporary and permanent staffing. We make a formidable team.

“The trust Allay is placing in us is a testament to the great service and commitment we are known for providing to both our clients and candidates.

“The excellent feedback we receive from our clients played a big part in us winning this contract. We are looking forward now to building a good relationship with Allay and supporting their ambitious growth plans.”
