LONDON, 28 AUGUST, 2025:
Collecting Cars today opens bidding via its all-new Sealed Bids platform – an online auction format created to provide privacy and efficiency for the collector car market. The inaugural seven-day auctions are now live and will run until 4 September, and several of the first cars to be auctioned are on display at the prestigious Salon Privé this week.

The debut Sealed Bids listings reflect the calibre of cars that benefit from this new format. Leading the line-up is a delivery-mileage and unregistered Ferrari 812 Competizione, presented in triple-layer Grigio Competizione with Giallo Fly accents. Another rare supercar on offer is a recently confirmed, VAT-qualifying 2013 RUF CTR3 Clubsport, showing just 143 miles from new. Exceptionally rare in both specification and condition, it is one of only seven Clubsport versions built and is offered from the UK. Reinforcing Collecting Cars’ position as the leading online platform for buying and selling Porsche cars; the first-ever Tuthill SCRS to be offered for sale – the very first of only 15 built – will also be offered via Sealed Bids. Based in the UK, the SCRS is a 993-based homage to the 1974 IROC racers, finished in Pascha Red with a bespoke leather interior.

These landmark cars are joined by equally compelling names: a striking Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, one of only 19 built worldwide, located in Switzerland; a 2012 Lexus LFA based in Japan, originally US-delivered and eligible for re-import; and two exquisite examples of the Ferrari Dino 246 – a concours-winning UK-based GTS, and a freshly restored GT in Australia – one of only 35 finished worldwide in Giallo Dino. Together, they set the standard for the discreet but world-class sales that Sealed Bids will host each month.

Sealed Bids takes the trusted seven-day Collecting Cars auction structure and redefines it for discretion. No bids are publicly visible – only participants know their position in the sale, and only the winning bidder is informed of the final price. Sellers and buyers remain anonymous until the hammer falls, ensuring the confidentiality that high-value transactions demand and protecting future values for all involved.

Edward Lovett, founder of Collecting Cars, commented: “Sealed Bids is about combining our market-leading reach with the privacy that collectors increasingly demand. Some of the most significant cars change hands away from the public eye – and now we’ve built a platform that gives that same level of discretion but with the global marketing power that Collecting Cars is renowned for. The first Tuthill SCRS and a virtually unused Ferrari 812 Competizione are perfect examples of why this format matters, as they can be sold by a comprehensive listing but with total confidentiality.”

Since 2019, Collecting Cars has grown into one of the world’s most dynamic digital auction platforms, with more than 20,000 lots sold globally. Sealed Bids enhances this with targeted marketing, preview periods and a vetted buyer base. Winning bidders pay only the hammer price, while sellers agree a clear fixed fee.

The first Sealed Bids auctions are live now and conclude on 4 September. Collecting Cars is displaying the Tuthill SCRS, Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, and RUF CTR3 Clubsport from this inaugural line-up at Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace (running until 31 August). View the Sealed Bids website here.
