A North East Michelin star chef, author and consultant to some of the biggest names in the culinary industry, is to become a one-night guest chef at Lochgreen House, Scotland.
With a career spanning over five decades Ian McAndrews has accumulated an extensive number of awards through his culinary skills and a successful hotel he co-owned with his wife, Jane.
Ian now runs a successful consultancy business, Chef Yes Chef, offering advice and practical help in the industry he loves, hospitality.
Ian worked at Eastwell Manor as Head Chef, where he earned his first Michelin Star, which then there were only 32 awarded in the UK.
After a successful 14-year’s Ian and Jane sold their last venture, the Blackaddie House Hotel in Dumfries & Galloway.
Prior to Blackaddie, Ian owned The Culinary Consultancy Company, supplying consultants to the hotel and catering industry. With a client list of big organisations and chains such as the NHS, Marks & Spencer’s, Master Chefs of Great Britan and many more. Following on from the pandemic, when businesses in the hospitality are in need more than ever expert advice, Ian has gone back to doing what he loves with Chef Yes Chef Consultancy.
Bill Costley of Costley Hotels said “I had heard of Ian many times before I had the privilege to meet him. His achievements when he was young in London were exemplary. He had a real enthusiasm for food, and I remember buying his book about 35 years ago which focused on fish.
“I am delighted that Ian has agreed to join us and showcase his culinary skills. He is a chef I have always had great admiration for and over the years have enjoyed many of his fine dining experiences.
“Although our career paths took us in different directions, it will be great to have him here with us at Lochgreen working with our kitchen team.”
The event will take place Friday 28th April 2023 at Lochgreen House where all guests will be treated to a 5-course dinner and a glass of bubbly on arrival.
