Families can immerse themselves in a winter wonderland and embrace the spirit of the festive season with a free two day enchanting extravaganza at intu Eldon Square.
On Thursday 23 and Friday 24 November the shopping centre will be alive with festive fun – featuring magical animatronic characters, roaming entertainment, face painting, exclusive competitions, festive food sampling and much more.

A breathtaking appearance by the magnificent Snow Lion will be the ‘mane’ event along with his glamorous Snow Queen protector, who are sure to captivate shoppers of all ages. These mystical characters encapsulate the spirit of the season and will transport their audience to a wintry world of make-believe.
The enchanting entertainment continues as the sparkling Glitterbelles roam the malls helping shoppers to get Christmassing while friendly fauns will spread a little festive magic and even stop for a selfie or two.
Whilst in centre families can enjoy an array of interactive fun as the intu Magic Tree app will be launched on Thursday 23 November. The app is a digital augmented reality experience which gives customers the chance to play fun games and add stickers to festive selfies. Visitors can share their favourite selfies and pictures from around the Christmas tree on Instagram and Twitter via the app for the chance to win a £250 intu Gift Card. Excitable elves will be on hand to show shoppers how the app works and they’ll also be surprising visitors with a few festive treats.
Outside of Boots shoppers will be tempted to sample the very best festive offerings from restaurants in the centre, while over at the winter wonderland near Debenhams there’s free face-painting for all the family.
Over the course of the two day extravaganza there’ll be competitions galore – for those dining in centre on the evening of Thursday 23 November a host of spot prizes will be up for grabs.
To add to the festive atmosphere, visitors to the Northumberland Street entrance to the city’s shopping centre are now welcomed by a giant Christmas clock, which counts down the number of sleeps until the big day.
intu Eldon Square also boasts a brand new scheme of decorations that reflect a traditional festive feel with cascading snowflakes, canopies of light and sparkling willow trees illuminating the malls, with the spectacular Christmas tree as the central feature.
