FREE events are being held at libraries across Stockton-on-Tees to mark ‘Elmer Day’ this Saturday (May 27).
Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, created by British author David McKee, is one of the country’s most popular children’s book characters.
Details of the ‘Elmer Day’ events are as follows:
Billingham Library
Enjoy a story time and crafts session to celebrate everyone’s favourite elephant. The session, which is suitable for under 5s, runs from 11am to 11.30am. To book call 01642 528084.
Norton Library
Have a go at a very special Elmer hide and seek game to win a prize. This drop-in session is suitable for under 5s and runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Stockton Central Library
Join the herd and have lots of Elmer fun making your own Elmer, entering a colouring competition, making an Elmer mask, or enjoying Elmer stories. This drop-in session is suitable for all ages and runs from 10am to 3pm.
Thornaby Central Library
Where’s Elmer? Can you find all the Elmers hidden in the library? This drop-in session is suitable for under 7s and runs from 10am to 3pm.
