A CONSTRUCTION firm is making good progress on a housing scheme in East Durham.
Gus Robinson Developments Ltd is building 10 four-bedroom houses in Wingate in a project which is being carried out on behalf of Prince Bishop Homes.
The plot of land where construction is being carried out is adjacent to the former Fir Tree public house.
Work started earlier this summer, and a completion date is scheduled for next Spring.
Steve Bell, Managing Director at Gus Robinson Developments Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be carrying out this project on behalf of Prince Bishop Homes.
“We have worked with them on other projects, most notably the new housing site at Coxhoe, and this contract strengthens our relationship with them.
“There has been a lot of work done in Wingate recently, and these 10 homes are a part of that.
“The land where we are building was left unused over a period of time, so we have been able to clear the whole site and set about building properties which will be of the highest quality.
“The former Fir Tree pub was recently converted into a convenience store, so by next Spring once this project is completed the whole area will have a completely different look to it.”
Gus Robinson Developments Ltd has enjoyed an impressive growth over the last three years, winning recognition from a host of industry sector awards following the successful completion of several contracts.
Since last summer, seven new key appointments have been made to the firm’s senior leadership team to reflect the increase in business.
