North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Half of first homes released at Longhoughton development sold in less than a month

Half of the first homes released at Story Homes’ new development in the Northumberland village of Longhoughton have been sold within three weeks of its launch.

The award-winning housebuilder had plans approved to build 66 new homes to the north of Station Road in March this year. Work started on-site during the summer, with the development – named Chancel Place – officially launching in late September.

Chancel Place comprises a collection of semi-detached and detached three, four and five-bedroom family homes across a range of ten house types.

Gillian Bell, Sales Manager at Story Homes, said: “We expected Chancel Place to be popular, but sales in the first three weeks have exceeded our expectations and indicate that there will be high demand for this development.

“We have had interest from a wide variety of buyers so far, including local residents, families looking to move out of the city, and even those searching for a holiday home. Longhoughton is a great place to live – residents can experience the benefits of rural village life combined with the close proximity of the coast and countryside, and excellent transport links to nearby towns and major cities to the north and south.

“We believe that we are offering something different from other developers in the North East with our high specification that comes as standard, from our partner brands such as Porcelanosa, Kelly Hoppen and Crosswater, as well as fully turfed front and rear gardens. We are now based on-site in our Marketing Suite, and are looking forward to continuing to meet potential buyers and introducing them to the development.”

As well as making a positive contribution to the area’s housing supply, the scheme will include the creation of landscaped areas and bring additional benefits to the community through direct and indirect opportunities for suppliers, contractors and local businesses in Northumberland.

In addition, according to figures calculated by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), the building of 66 homes will support the employment of nearly 300 people, including apprentices and trainees. Story Homes invites anyone interested in working on its Chancel Place site, particularly bricklayers, to email communications@storyhomes.co.uk to register their interest.

Story Homes has rapidly expanded into the North East in recent years, with Chancel Place being one of its 11 developments across Northumberland, North Tyneside, County Durham and Teesside. This year, the housebuilder was awarded a five-star rating for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and the National House Building Council (NHBC) for the fourth consecutive year. Customers rated their buying experience with an outstanding satisfaction rate of 92 per cent, and more than nine in 10 customers said they would recommend Story Homes to a friend.
