Hambleton’s four Leisure Centres are joining in with a new national campaign that aims to raise awareness of the importance of learning to swim.

‘Learn to Swim Week’, which takes place from 10 to 16 June , is a new awareness campaign from the Swimming Teachers Association, a charity dedicated to the teaching of swimming and water safety.

Their mission is to provide every child in the UK the opportunity to learn to swim and the  campaign will focus on all areas of learning to swim, from baby to adult swimming.

“Learning to swim is an important and a vital part of a child’s development,” said Alison Readman, Business Development Officer.

“We are passionate about teaching all learners how to be confident and safe, in and around water.  It is never to early or late to learn

“Being able to swim and enjoy the water confidently and safely with friends and family – whether at the beach, in a swimming pool or through social sports activities – it’s one of life’s pleasures.”

Support ‘Learn to Swim Week’ and enrol yourself or your child today on one of the free taster lessons available at your local leisure centre.
