Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Hat trick of accolades for Dobson & Parnell

Staff at Newcastle quayside restaurant, Dobson & Parnell, are celebrating being included in the coveted Michelin Guide for 2020, a week after securing a place in two other top listings.

The Michelin Guide’s recommendations are based on a team of national inspectors who scour the country looking for great restaurants who offer fresh, seasonal ingredients, innovative cooking styles and fantastic service.

The entry reads: “This elegant restaurant is an iconic address in the city and is named after Victorian architects John Dobson and William Parnell. Cooking has a classic style, with the occasional international influence, and dishes are colourful and satisfying”.

The news comes a week after the restaurant was awarded its first inclusion in The Good Food Guide and being voted in the Top 13 restaurant list by Restaurant Listings.

Andy Hook, managing director for Dobson & Parnell said: “We’re delighted to have secured our listing in the Michelin Guide for the second year and so proud to be in the Good Food Guide for the first time. Being voted in the top 13 restaurants in Newcastle is the icing on the cake and test amount to the hard work put in by our staff.

The restaurant, which was opened in 2016, serves casual fine dining by top chef Troy Terrington, former head chef at its sister restaurant Blackfriars and Jesmond Dene House. As well an excellent value set lunch menu it also offers a la carte and innovative 5 and 7-course tasting menus with matching wines.

If you’re looking to book your Christmas party, Dobson & Parnell is now taking bookings.
