Housebuilder and local school children flock together to support wildlife

Primary school children in Hexham have been supporting the local environment by encouraging birds into their school gardens with the help of housebuilder, David Wilson Homes.

• The reception classes of The Sele First School received a special activity pack from David Wilson Homes, containing all of the supplies needed for the children to make their own bird feeders. The pack also contained birdhouses for the school to install, along with RSPB information on how to spot the different species that may visit throughout the year, and how to look after them.
• The activity is inspired by the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch and encourages both adults and children to help count local wildlife.
