Calling all ghostly ghouls and wannabe witches – Halloween is fast approaching and eerie things are going on at intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square this half term!

Hundreds of trick-or-treaters are expected to descend on both centres in the run up to Halloween as part of a series of free events being run to keep children entertained during the half term holidays.

intu’s mission to ‘make it fangtastic’ for families this half term will begin with a bewitching selection of free Halloween craft workshops for children – all guaranteed to scare away the holiday boredom!

At intu Metrocentre children will have the opportunity to make vampire masks, witch and wizard hats as well as bring Frankenstein puppets to life. Over at intu Eldon Square the fangtastic fun continues as children can take a trip to ghoul school, decorate Halloween biscuits and make spooky spoons!

The Halloween enter-tomb-ment culminates with the big trick or treat, hosted by intu Metrocentre on 30 October and by intu Eldon Square on 29 and 30 October in partnership with retailers and restaurants from both centres.

Children are invited to wear their most spooktacular Halloween costume, collect a pumpkin treat pot from customer service desks then go trick or treating around the shopping centres. Participating retailers will display a pumpkin or a pumpkin sticker in their windows – little ones can then trick or treat at the till point to claim sweet treats and devilish delights!

Karen Carr, regional marketing manager, intu north said:

Halloween shouldn’t be frightening for families but we know that it can be difficult to keep children entertained during half term and many parents will also be looking to escape the unpredictable north east weather when it comes to trick or treating with their children.

We’re looking forward to putting smiles on the faces of hundreds of mini witches and warlocks this half term with our fun, free Halloween activities and our big trick or treat events which promise to be ghoulishly good fun!”
