SINGLES are being invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends, at a top Newcastle restaurant.
Scalini’s, Osborne Road, Jesmond, is setting aside three, group tables on Saturday 14 February, for diners who want to spend the evening with their mates.
And not only have chefs have devised special sharing platters just for the event, but each group table will also be gifted a bottle of rosé wine by the restaurant’s owners, the Malhotra Group.
The tables seat six to eight diners, who will be able to choose from dishes such as antipasto primo – with oven baked brie and vegetable crudités – and antipasto di mare, with beer battered fish goujons, whole tail scampi and black pepper and lemon oysters.
They can then opt for a dessert sharing platter of chocolate profiteroles, sticky toffee pudding, strawberry meringue, cream and ice cream.
The sharing dishes will form part of a wider Valentine’s menu, which will also include individual dishes such as chargrilled T-bone steak, pan seared king scallop and tiger prawn skewers and heart-shaped pasta parcels.
Meanwhile, Scalini’s sister restaurant, at Great North Road, Gosforth, is also offering a Valentine’s menu which, along with individual dishes, includes meals designed for two people.
Loved up couples can choose a main course of marinated and grilled spatchcock chicken with pulled chicken sliders and garlic and parsley skin-on fries, followed by fried gnocchi filled with chocolate Nutella – a dish unique to the restaurant – churros and fresh strawberries.
“Whether you’re looking for a loved-up, romantic dinner for two or to share the occasion with your nearest and dearest friends, Scalini’s will ensure you have a night to remember,” said owner Atul Malhotra.
