Darlington Building Society in Guisborough has made a donation to a local Scout group to help fund a once in a lifetime trip.
The Society’s Guisborough branch has made a £186 donation from its community fund to fund a series of activities for the members of the East Cleveland Explorer Scouts, including a cultural visit to London.
The Scout group was nominated by a member of staff whose son is a Scout. The money will help fund activities including a visit to London to participate in a range of cultural and confidence-building experiences, including a West End show, visit to the Olympic Park, and coach travel to and from the capital.
Nicki Armstrong, Branch Manager at the Guisborough branch of Darlington Building Society, said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to help the East Cleveland Explorer Scouts.
“The Scouts do a great deal of volunteering in the local community and instil in the members the importance of citizenship and having a positive impact in their communities, which is something the Society whole-heartedly supports.”
Craig Bennett at East Cleveland Explorer Scouts said: “We cannot thank Darlington Building Society enough for the kind donation. It will help fund our trip to London which will serve as an important confidence building exercise for the youngsters.”
