One of Tyneside’s leading fasteners and fixings suppliers to the manufacturing industry has leapt to the aid of a North East junior football team.

Newburn-based Masfix, which has recently rebranded from its original name M&S Distributors, are the new team sponsors of Seaton Delaval Dynamos’ Under 16s boys team.

Masfix, which specialises in supplying fasteners and fixings to organisations in the manufacturing, oil and gas, defence and construction industries were looking for ways to expand the awareness of their new brand and identity when the club approached them.

The company were so impressed with the set up at the club that they have provided funding for training kit, rain jackets and matchday kit too.

Sales director at Masfix, Mark Slater said: “We’re really excited by the new look and name for Masfix, so when we heard of Seaton Delaval Dynamos’ need for sponsorship, we were keen to be involved with them. The support of grassroots sport is something that’s very important to all the team here.

“We’re a family run business and we know they’re a club that puts enjoyment and inclusion at the centre of everything they do. We hope the new association with Masfix will bring the squad all the luck this season.”

Under 16s team manager, Martin Robson said: “We’re hugely thankful to everyone at Masfix for being so supportive. We rely massively on generosity like this in order to make sure we can give all the teams at Seaton Delaval all the support and facilities they need.

“Without the backing of organisations like Masfix, all the time the parents and volunteers put in means nothing. We’re really proud to carry their new Masfix branding on our shirts.”

Masfix, which was formed in 1982 and is situated on Newburn Industrial Estate, is operated by Mark Slater and Ian Mordue. They are the respective sons of original founders, Ron Slater and George Mordue and took the business on from their fathers in 2001.  Their recent rebrand was undertaken by Gateshead based creative agency, Double Concentrate.

Seaton Delaval Dynamos Junior FC was formed in 2009, and now operates six  teams across a range of ages. They were awarded National Charter Standard Club status by the FA in 2013 and have recently been named joint winners in the Grassroots category for the FA’s Respect Awards for 2016.
