North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

NEW APPOINTMENT AT LEADING ARCHITECTS’ SUPPORTS GROWTH PLANS…

A NORTH EAST award-winning architecture practice is designing for its future growth, with the appointment of a leading landscape architect.

Space Architects, based at Benton Park Road, Newcastle, has a long-standing reputation for delivering creative projects across a wide range of sectors.

And the company will now be offering clients the opportunity to benefit from environmental design, with the arrival of Nick Jaszynksi as a director.

Nick, who has more than 20 years’ experience working across the UK in both private practices and local authorities, will be bringing his skills in environmental and urban design to Space.

And he believes that this will strengthen the company approach, by being able to design buildings with an integrated external space.

“Architecture is changing,” said Nick.

“And now more than ever before it’s important to take into account the environment as there’s now a real emphasis on recycling, reusing and refurbishing and extending the life cycle of buildings.

“It’s far more than just planting some trees. It’s about creating amazing spaces which complement the overall design.”

For Nick the opportunity to become part of the Space team was one to be jumped at.

“I knew the company because I had worked with the team on many projects over the years.

“And what always impressed me were they were a North East company but with a wide outlook and vision and a real spirit of entrepreneurship.

“They have done some incredible work and are very well respected and I am delighted to be part of their future.”

Space is already widely regarded for its creativity and its ability to handle projects from across a broad range of sectors – including leisure, education, culture and healthcare.

Rob Charlton, CEO of Space, is equally delighted that Nick has joined the team.

“Nick’s skills, experience and ability will help us offer our clients a more integrated  service,” he said.

“Part of our strategy is to be able to offer our clients a more connected environmental approach and we realised that Nick would be a great fit.

“We will now be able to build in every aspect of environmental services to a project which enhances our creative approach, which means we are entering a really exciting time for the business.”

The company is currently at the centre of some of Newcastle’s most ambitious new projects, including the Grey Street mixed use scheme and the apart hotel at Mosley Street.

Past projects highlight Space’s diversity and have included the design of Close House golf clubhouse and master planning Newcastle’s Stephenson Quarter.
