Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

PADDLEPOD JOBS ATTRACT 1000 APPLICANTS…

THE creation of two state-of-the-art North East swimming pools is already creating a splash – after more than 1000 people applied for jobs in their cafes.

PaddlePod is launching this autumn at Newcastle and North Tyneside, providing the perfect setting for young people, toddlers and babies to learn to swim.

And, along with the pool, PaddlePod is offering a range of facilities, including an activity room where a variety of classes will be held, a café at each venue which will be open to the general public and a play area.

As part of its recruitment drive PaddlePod advertised for a café manager at each venue and is also currently looking for receptionists and staff to work in the café and play areas.

And PaddlePod director, Phil Groom, said they had been “overwhelmed” with the amount of interest in the positions.

“We’ve had well over 1000 applications for the jobs,” said Phil, who is also the man behind the highly successful Nemo Swimming and SwimNE classes.

“We have been completely overwhelmed by the level of interest and I’m sure we will end up with some fantastic staff.”

Interviews are now being held tomorrow (7 August) at Trinity Church, Gosforth, for the initial set of jobs, with future jobs already in the pipeline.

The £700,000 project will see the creation of the two pools, which will also have a range of facilities including modern changing rooms and comfortable viewing galleries.

Construction is currently underway with both pools – PaddlePod @ Newcastle and PaddlePod @ North Tyneside – due to open this autumn.
