Middlesbrough-born actor and theatre maker Dan Bye and Newcastle-based theatre maker Luca Rutherford will be performing as part of the festival between Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 May.

Dan will perform Going Viral, a play about panic and fear and how emotions can trigger epidemics and spread chaos. The play was the recipient of a Scotsman Fringe First Award 2015.

Luca will perform Learning How to Die, a show that is essentially uplifting, and is about learning how to cope with the idea of death, and how to become more confident with dealing with the thought of dying. The play is told through a thoughtful, provocative script that is more about celebrating life and living it to the full. Both shows are produced by ARC Stockton.

Theatre company ivo will then double bill with Dan Bye on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 May.

ivo will bring In The Vice Like Grip Of It to the stage. The show was the recipient of Routes North 2015/16, and explores the impact of contemporary surveillance on our relationship with the state, and the bearing our intimacy with technology has on this.

A Nation’s Theatre is a London based initiative, created to highlight work from different regions, and bring them to the stage in London showcasing the talents of theatre makers and producer from across the country.

Annabel Turpin commented: “On behalf of all ARC staff, we are delighted that the shows ARC Stockton have produced will be performed via the platform of A Nation’s Theatre.

“Outstanding work is produced all across the nation each year, and Dan and Luca are very much looking forward to taking their brilliant shows to Camden People’s Theatre. It is a testament to all their hard work and commitment to creating excellent touring shows.”
