North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

ONE of Newcastle’s most popular city centre bars is to reopen after a rebrand and facelift.

The Giraffe Lounge will open its doors at Waterloo Square in the building which was formerly The Bottle Shop Bar and Kitchen.

Now owned by St Camillus Leisure Ltd, the Giraffe Lounge is currently undergoing a refit and overhaul. This includes changes to the décor, along with the redevelopment of the balcony, which will become part of a new restaurant area.

This larger dining area will mean the bar can now offer an even bigger choice of food. Lunches and daytime snacks will be now be available, and the evening menu is set to be extended, providing a larger selection of dishes.

A new cocktail menu will also be unveiled as part of the refit, with other new drinks set to be added when it opens for business.

Managing director John Heron believes the rebrand and new interior will be a hit with customers old and new.

“When we purchased the bar earlier this year, we could see there was huge potential to expand both the drinks selection and the food options,” he said. “We want to give people somewhere they can visit at any time during the day for food, drink or even a coffee.

“We have tried to keep our closure time to the absolute minimum so as not to inconvenience any of our customers, and now we are almost ready to reopen.

“We are confident customers will be impressed with our new look and menus, and we are excited about opening our doors next weekend when we hope to welcome back our regulars as well as new clients.”
