North East leisure giant, Vaulkhard Group has appointed Newcastle-based Silverstone Building Consultancy to manage multiple building projects it has in the pipeline.
Silverstone’s appointment follows the Vaulkhard Group’s recent announcement that it plans to carry out a series of refurbishments across its portfolio as part of a major investment drive.
The firm has established a three-year plan to invest £4m in re-developing a number of its bars and cafes, the first of which was the £600,000 transformation of Fluid Bar in Gallowgate into Bealim House last August.
Silverstone, a Newcastle-based firm of project managers and building surveyors, has been brought on board to offer specialist building consultancy advice on a number of refurbishments and extensions to properties within Vaulkhard’s extensive portfolio.
The firm says it hopes this will be the start of a long-term relationship with the leisure group.
Ben Hunter director at Silverstone said: “The Vaulkhard Group has a number of exciting projects planned and we are delighted to have been appointed as their trusted advisor on building related matters. We will be managing the contractors and design teams to ensure all building works are completed on time and to an excellent standard. We hope to develop a long-term relationship with Vaulkhard and are confident the investment in these venues will result in further success for the business.”
The projects include the refurbishment of a number of city centre venues including extensions to both Barluga and Blake’s Coffee House on Grey Street, a major refurbishment of Perdu in Collingwood Street and the refurbishment of office space at Apollo House above Pacific Bar on Northumberland Road. They will also be overseeing the development of a new Central Bean café in Sheffield.
Ollie Vaulkhard, director of Vaulkhard Group said: “It’s great to have Silverstone’s professional input on these redevelopment projects, their knowledge of the building process means we are in very safe hands. We are working on a number of exciting and creative ideas for these venues, details of which will be revealed as work progresses, and I am really looking forward to seeing the end result.”
