Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2016-06-07 at 10.48.15ONE of the North East’s top spas hopes to be everyone’s cup of tea – with a bespoke range of loose leaf blends.

The £8m Spa at Ramside, at County Durham’s Ramside Hall Hotel, which has pioneered the use of specialist, wellness-based, training and therapies, has joined forces with award-winning, London-based, Camellia’s Tea House.

The family run company, which has won 12 Gold Taste awards, hand blends teas and infusions, using health promoting ingredients, sourced from around the world for their holistic benefits.

And now a selection of its teas, including a blend created especially for The Spa at Ramside, will be available to customers seeking everything from an energy boost, to stress relief and even a hangover cure.

Among the familiar tea blends on offer are lemon, which invigorates; peppermint, to aid digestion and circulation and soothe cold symptoms and chamomile flower, which is widely used to calm the nerves and soothe the symptoms of allergies and eczema.

However more exotic blends will also be on offer, including chocolate tea, white rose and raspberry and Earl Grey, mixed with oranges and oil of bergamot.

Camellia’s Tea House has also created a unique, Ramside Revive blend, specifically for The Spa at Ramside, which is designed to rejuvenate both body and mind.

Crafted using white tea leaves, apricots, marigold and mullein flowers, yellow rose buds, lemon peel and ginger, it is believed to be rich in anti-oxidants and designed to be drunk either hot or iced.

“The teas are designed to promote a number of health and wellness areas, so the staff will be able to tailor a client’s drink to their specific needs, enhancing their spa visit,” said Camellia’s Tea House co-founder, Lubna Madan.

“It is great that a spa of this quality is thinking so clearly about how it can elevate its tea offering to be part of the client’s journey.”

Along with state-of-the-art facilities and an extensive range of facials and body treatments, staff at the Spa at Ramside have undergone specialist Wellness for Cancer training to help them support those living with the illness.

“That’s because we believe the spa should be as much about wellness as it is about pampering,” said spa director, Jill Russell, “and our partnership with Camellia’s Tea House reinforces that commitment.”

“People visit us for many different reasons and offering them a tea designed specifically to address their needs will only enhance their visit.”
