One of Teesside’s best known commercial property agents has completed a gruelling mountain walking challenge to raise funds for charity.
Stephen Brown, senior partner at Middlesbrough-based Dodds Brown LLP, the largest independent commercial property surveying practice headquartered on Teesside, finished the 11 day Tour de Mont Blanc Alpine walk, raising £2,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society and for Syrian Refugees through UNICEF.
The Tour de Mont Blanc is a 120 mile circumnavigation of the Alps’ highest peak, with more than 35,000 feet of ascent and descent. Staying in mountain refuges, walkers must carry all their kit with them for the entire hike.
Tackling the Tour de Mont Blanc was a long held ambition of Stephen who is a keen walker. However, this was the first time he had taken on such a long journey on foot.
He says: “Completing the Tour de Mont Blanc was much harder than I envisaged. It was 11 days hard walking in some very challenging weather conditions, but being supported by everyone who pledged money kept me going. But it’s going to take me a long time to recover fully.”
Stephen blogged about his walk and took many photographs. They can be seen on his justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Brown38, where donations can still be made. Donations can also be made via text by texting: MTBC55 £10 to 70070.
